INTOUCH – A MAGAZINE FOR ALUMNI OF IVEY BUSINESS SCHOOL – GAINING CONTROL

In the Spring 2021 edition of Ivey Business School’s Intouch magazine, Erin Craven, HBA ’98, shares her transformative journey from a Fortune 500 executive to the founder of UROSPOT, a pioneering femtech company dedicated to enhancing women’s pelvic health.

Identifying a Silent Epidemic

Erin’s personal struggle with bladder leaks and urgency—a condition affecting two out of three women over 40—ignited her passion for innovation in women’s health. Frustrated by the lack of effective solutions, she discovered a Health Canada-approved, non-invasive technology known as “The Kegel Throne.” This device utilizes electromagnetic energy to perform 11,000 Kegel exercises in just 28 minutes, effectively strengthening pelvic floor muscles.

Launching UROSPOT

Motivated by her experience, Erin left her executive role in May 2019 to establish UROSPOT, a private urology clinic specializing in pelvic floor strengthening. With the support of her husband and collaboration with marketing strategist Jennifer Gerynowicz, HBA ’98, she opened the first UROSPOT location in London, Ontario, in October 2019. Despite pandemic-related challenges, UROSPOT expanded to Toronto and launched a franchising system in October 2020.

Empowering Women Through Innovation

UROSPOT’s mission is to provide women with freedom and confidence by addressing pelvic floor issues through advanced technology and personalized care. The clinic offers a comprehensive approach that includes education, health coaching, and the use of the Kegel Throne to restore pelvic floor strength. This innovative treatment has empowered many women to regain control over their health and improve their quality of life.

Personal and Professional Growth

Erin reflects on her journey, acknowledging the personal growth and resilience she developed while navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship. She emphasizes that, despite the difficulties, her work with UROSPOT has been more rewarding than anything she had accomplished in her 22-year business career.
