Pelvic floor dysfunction, a common problem affecting many women, can lead to issues like incontinence, urgency, and frequency. These conditions can significantly impact a woman’s quality of life, causing embarrassment, anxiety, and even depression.
We aim to empower women by providing education, treatment, and support. Our mission is to help women understand their bodies, address their concerns, and regain control of their lives.
We recently invited the CHCH team into our St. Catherines location to learn more about pelvic health & how we support women and men at UROSPOT. Our founder, Erin, spoke to the team about:
- Pelvic Floor Basics: The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support the bladder, uterus, and bowel. It’s essential for continence, sexual function, and overall well-being.
- Common Issues: Many women experience issues like leaking urine during exercise, coughing, or sneezing. These are not normal and can be addressed.
- Treatment Options: We offer a variety of treatment options, including:
- Education and Lifestyle Changes: Learning about bladder habits, diet, and exercise can make a significant difference.
- Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy: A physical therapist can teach you exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.
- Electromagnetic Therapy: This non-invasive treatment uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles.
If you’re experiencing any pelvic floor issues, don’t hesitate to seek help. Early intervention can prevent the condition from worsening and improve your quality of life.
