IS UROSPOT ELIGIBLE FOR COVERAGE WITH EXTENDED HEALTH BENEFITS?

UROSPOT Physiotherapy Services are eligible for extended health benefit coverage. Each plan is of course unique, so its up to the client to understand what level of coverage they have. For those wishing to include the Kegel Throne within a comprehensive pelvic health rehabilitation program, you would be required to meet with one of our pelvic floor physiotherapists who will determine the best treatment plan for you. Please note UROSPOT does not do direct billing.

DO I NEED TO REMOVE MY CLOTHES DURING MY SESSION ON THE KEGEL THRONE?

No way! You remain fully clothed.  There is no undressing into a gown either.  You wear the clothes you arrive in.

HOW LONG IS TREATMENT ON THE KEGEL THRONE? HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Our Nurse will tailor an individualized treatment plan for you.  For most people this means 6 sessions scheduled twice a week for three weeks. The treatment time on the chair takes 28 minutes.

If you are being treated by one of our physiotherapists who has decided to incorporate this modality into your treatment plan, she will determine the number of sessions required.

WILL ANYONE OR ANYTHING BE TOUCHING MY BODY, OR WILL ANYTHING GO INSIDE MY BODY ON THE KEGEL THRONE?

Absolutely not.  You simply sit on the chair fully clothed.  By sitting on the right spot, it allows a wave of electromagnetic energy to be directed towards your pelvic floor muscles.  That energy does all the work while you enjoy Netflix or read a magazine.

WHAT DOES TREATMENT ON THE KEGEL THRONE FEEL LIKE? IS IT PAINFUL?

You will experience tingling and contraction of ALL your pelvic floor muscles during your session. It is NOT painful, and you can resume daily activities immediately after your session.

HOW FAST WILL I EXPERIENCE RESULTS ON THE KEGEL THRONE?

Improvement occurs gradually with each session in your treatment plan.  Some people begin to notice improvement as early as their first few sessions. Typically, you can expect your optimal outcomes to be achieved around 6 weeks post treatment.

IS THE TECHNOLOGY SAFE?

Yes! This technology is approved by both the FDA and Health Canada.

Clinically Proven Results You Can Trust

Evaluation of the repetitive pulse magnetic stimulation (rPMS) for the treatment of urinary incontinence and a female sexual satisfaction.
[link href="https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT03942484" text="CONTINUE READING"]

Efficacy of rPMS for Improvement of Urinary Incontinence and Female Sexual Function

This study will compare the clinical efficacy and safety between rPMS device and pelvic floor exercises for the treatment of urinary incontinence. The subjects will be enrolled and assigned into two study groups - active and control group. Subjects will be required to complete six (6) treatment visits and five follow-up visits - 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after the final treatment.

rPMS Compared With Pelvic Floor Exercises for Treatment of Urinary Incontinence

The purpose of this prospective study is to examine the safety and efficacy of high intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology for the treatment of women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI), urge incontinence (UI) and mixed stress urinary and urge incontinence (MUI), looking at any potential sexual health benefits that may be concomitantly achieved from this treatment.

Urinary Stress Incontinence and Urgency in Women With EMSELLA

High intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology induces deep pelvic floor muscle contractions designed to deliver the equivalent of 11,200 Kegel exercise over 28 minutes, with the intention of increasing neuromuscular tone of the pelvic floor. This study will have looking at treatment of the two of the most common pelvic floor disorders: stress or stress predominant urinary incontinence and urge or urge predominant urinary incontinence.

High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Field Device for Urinary Incontinence

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a condition that affects both men and women. SUI is the involuntary leakage of urine caused by an increase in intra-abdominal pressure from activities such as exercise, coughing, laughing, or sneezing. It can significantly affect quality of life as patients avoid activities or behaviors that cause leakage. This clinical trial will compare the efficacy of the Emsella chair to sham and determine if electromagnetic technology is effective in the treatment of SUI.

BTL Emsella Chair Versus Sham for the Treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence

The purpose of this clinical trial is to compare the Emsella Chair therapy to Sham and to determine whether electromagnetic technology is effective in the treatment of chronic pelvic pain. Currently there are no other studies utilizing the Emsella Chair for the treatment of chronic pelvic pain. Eligible subjects will receive 2 treatments per week for a total of 4 weeks.

Emsella Chair Versus Sham for the Treatment of Chronic Pelvic Pain (EmsellaPain)

The purpose of this clinical trial is to compare the Emsella Chair therapy to Sham and to determine whether electromagnetic technology is effective in the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB). Currently there are no other studies utilizing the Emsella Chair for the treatment of OAB. Eligible subjects will receive 2 treatments per week for a total of 4 weeks.

BTL Emsella Chair Versus Sham for the Treatment of Overactive Bladder (EmsellaOAB)

We will be performing this study in 2 phases: Phase 1 will be an open label pilot study of 10 male participants. All participants in the pilot study will receive active treatment. If data from the pilot study is suggestive of symptom improvement, we will continue on to phase 2, which is a sham controlled, randomized blinded study. Participants in phase 2 will be randomized to receive either active treatment or sham. Potentially total of 114 participants for both phases will be enrolled.

Emsella Chair vs Sham for Male Sexual Dysfunction (Emsella_EJD)

High intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology induces deep pelvic floor muscle contractions designed to deliver the equivalent of 11,200 Kegel exercise over 28 minutes, with the intention of increasing neuromuscular tone of the pelvic floor. High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Field Device for Urinary Incontinence

The main hypothesis of this study is that peripheral magnetic neuromodulation can correct the symptoms of lower urinary tract in men. We assume that under the influence of t peripheral magnetic stimulation, both the subjective state of patients assessed by standardized questionnaires and a urination diary, as well as the objective parameters, assessed by non-invasive urodynamic studies, will be improved. This study will use standard protocols built into the BTL Emsella magnetic stimulator.
